Life is a Highway...and we've been living on it!!

Parker and I went to my grandparent's house on the Coast two weeks ago for the whole week. They hadn't seen him since March, so we went for a long visit, and my mom and Lia came the last part of the week. We had a great time swimming in their pool and relaxing. I came home on Friday, and Parker stayed with my mom and they both came to our house on Monday. Lee and I went to eat with Kell and Mary Straton on Friday. My sweet husband sent me to Trio for a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure on Saturday, and we just sat around at home Saturday night. We missed Parker so much but had a good time doing nothing...until I cleaned the house all day Sunday!

Parker and I left again last Wednesday and are in Pontotoc now with Lee's parents. I'll have lots to post when we return!

Happy, happy birthday

I'm such a terrible wife. Lee's birthday was Thursday, June 12th. In my defense, we weren't home all day long, so I didn't have time to blog that day. We had a progressive dinner with the law firm Lee is currently clerking with. They were so sweet and had a birthday cake at the dessert house and sang and everything! I think he was a little embarrassed. Since we were busy that night, we celebrated Friday night with Alyssa and Sam by going bowling and to eat and then having cake and presents at our house.

Lia graduated!!

We weren't there for the actual school graduation, which was just his past Saturday, but we were there for the senior recognition at church. We're so proud of Lia and all of her accomplishments. It seems like just yesterday she moved to Texas and HATED it...like cried every day about going to school. It seems now like she's been there forever, and she's certainly found her place. She's actually sad to be graduating! We're so excited she'll be going to Mississippi State in the fall and will be so close to us. We're excited to see what she's going to do there!!

Shopping til we dropped

Houston has so much to do, and one of my favorite things to do there is go shopping. So many fun places to go. Parker was a good sport each time we decided to go.

He was mesmerized by all the colors in the necklaces. He was so tired, but he couldn't make himself close his eyes.

He did finally give in.

My dad (PeePaw to Parker) went shopping with us on the last night there. He and Parker spent lots of time walking around while my mom and I hit some stores up for the last time.

Fiesta!!!

I'm adding more pictures of our trip to Texas. We've been running like crazy since we got back, so I haven't had time.

Lia and her two sweet friends, Barbara and Drew, decided to surprise their guy friends with a Mexican Fiesta. It was so cute. The girls spent a whole day shopping and cooking and decorating...and trying to keep this a secret. They picked the guys up and blindfolded them and brought them to my parents' house. They had so much fun. They even played Pin the Tale on the Donkey and busted a pinata! Too, too cute.

Back in Texas

Parker and I have been in Texas for the past week. We drove back last Saturday with my mom and have been spending time with my mom and dad and Lia. We came because Lee had three trips back to back and wasn't going to be home, and I didn't want to be home by myself. He went fishing with his mom and dad, went to Seaside with people from work and is leaving tomorrow to go to the Coast for a few days. We've had so much fun and are sad it's almost time to go home. We're leaving Wednesday and flying back (Parker's first time to fly...wish us luck!), and as sad as I am to leave here, I'm really ready to get back home to Lee. We've missed him like crazy, and Parker really misses him. I put him on speakerphone when he calls and Parker just listens and tries to talk back. It's really funny. Parker's had a good time with Aunt Lia...he just laughs and stares at her...and I've had fun spending time with her and getting to know some of her friends. And my mom and I have had a GREAT time shopping. Parker's been a really good sport! Here are some of the fun things we've done. I'll post more fun pics later.

Parker was so good on the whole drive here...it took us 10 hours! He slept a lot and would wake up and play for a while. He was playing and then fell asleep still holding on to his toys. Bless his heart!

Parker started eating baby food this week. So far he hates sweet potatoes. He makes an awful face and is really dramatic about gagging.
